Description
The family of Maeng Sa-seong, who is known as a morally upright government officer, lived here. According to a story, Admiral Choe Yeong in the late Goryeo Dynasty originally built this house. This place is known as one of the oldest buildings where common people had lived. Two 600-year-old ginkgo trees stand in the front yard and wide forest of zelkovas, persimmon tree, and fir tree over the hill. Lots of zelkovas and willow also grow around the brook in front of the house. A small vegetable garden was formed in the yard. This house shows the features of the common house in the early Joseon Dynasty.
