Description
It is a 620m-long wall from the Baekje Period encircling the summit of Odusan Mountain. The slope is steep, and the west section of the wall is connected to Imjingang River; on the east are spacious farming fields, with a mountain on the north and the west of the wall remains well. The fortress wall gets narrower as it goes up, and the inside is filled with rocks and stones. Its design is of special note in studying the walls of the Baekje Period. Gwanmiseong Fortress is said to be today's Odusan Fortress, which was on the northern border of the Baekje Dynasty as written in the Stele for King Gwanggaeto and Kim Bu-sik's Samguk sagi (History of the Three Kingdoms). Moreover, in Kim Jeong-ho's Daedong yeojido (Map of the Great East), the place was named Gwanmiseong Fortress. Therefore this is an important place of study, attracting much attention.
