Description
Buried in the tomb is Inbin Kim, a royal concubine of King Seonjo (1567∼1608), the 14th king of the Joseon Dynasty. Inbin Kim was the grandmother of King Injo, the 16th king of the Joseon Dynasty, and mother of Wonjong who was Injo's father and who was respected as a king after his death. A fence surrounds her tomb, and in her graveyard are many stone constructions including her stele. Her tomb was upgraded and renamed Sungangwon in the 31st year of the reign of King Yeongjo (1755). Additionally, her mortuary tablet was enshrined in Jeogyeonggung Shrine. In the 2nd year of the reign of King Sunjong, it was moved and enshrined in one of the Chilgung shrines where the seven royal concubines whose sons became kings -- or were entitled and respected as kings after their deaths in the Joseon Dynasty -- are worshipped.
