Description
Buried in this tomb is Jeongbin Yi (1693∼1720), a royal concubine of King Yeong-jo (1724 and 1776), the 21st king of the Joseon Dynasty. She gave birth to her eldest son, Prince Hyojang (who was entitled and respected as King Jinjong after his death and who was King Jeongjo's foster father as well). There are a fence around her tomb and some stone constructions including her stele and stone statues of scholars as well. Her mortuary tablet is enshrined in Yeonhogung, one of the Chilgung shrines where the seven royal concubines whose sons became kings -- or were entitled and respected as kings after their deaths -- are worshipped.
