Description
This site was found during the land surveying for the construction of Yonghwang Elementary School around Hwangseong-dong and Yonggang-dong, north of Bukcheon Stream in Gyeongju-si. The lake site (about 3321 sq.yds.), the stone reinforcing structure around the lake site, two artificially built islands, two building sites, a bridge, and a structure believed to be a drainage facility have been excavated here. This is thought to be the picnic place for the royal family from the Unified Silla Dynasty.
