Description
These ancient tombs are located 2km away to the east from the ancient tombs of the Baekje Dynasty in Neungsan-ri along with other historic sites of the Outer City Wall (Historic Site No. 58) and Cheongmasanseong Fortress (Historic Site No. 34) from the Baekje Dynasty. Through the excavations from 1995 to 1996, 30 stone chamber tombs with tunnel entrances, 20 stone-lined tombs, and 4 jar coffin tombs have been found. We can see the various ancient burial forms such as single-burial tomb, tomb for two bodies, and tomb for children. Cloth (silk fabrics), gold earrings, silver ornaments for coronets, and ornaments for the waistbands have been excavated from the tombs, which are estimated to be those of the aristocrats of the Baekje Dynasty between the 6th and 7th century based on the excavations on them. Excavations on the tombs led to remarkable breakthroughs for research on the history of the Baekje Dynasty. The tombs have served as very reliable archaeological evidence for research on the clothing and burial traditions of the Baekje Dynasty.
