Description

The Jungyeongmyo and Yeonggyeongmyo Royal Tombs are the tombs of the fifth-generation ancestors of King Taejo, the founder of the Joseon Dynasty, and his wife Lady Yi. These are not the tombs of real kings or queens, but were acknowledged as royal tombs by the Joseon Dynasty. As the tombs were those of King Taejo’s ancestors, they represent the birthplace of the Joseon royal family, and have great historical and academic value as they were built in accordance with feng shui principles.
