Description

At the temple site in Inwang-dong, Gyeongju, archaeologists discovered the archaeological features of a temple's middle gate, two pagodas, a main dharma hall, a lecture hall, various galleries and a building with a symmetrical polygonal layout. The remains of the twin stone pagodas showed the characteristic style of Unified Silla (676-935) stone pagodas, and were carved with the Eight Dharmapalas. The temple site also yielded a wealth of Unified Silla artifacts, including porcelain shards, tiles, earthenware, wooden slips, metal artifacts and religious objects, providing valuable clues about the Buddhist architecture of Silla.
