Description
Julnamu means a group of roadside trees which are lined with a street. Forest of East Asian Hackberries and Asian Hornbeams in Cheongcheon-ri, Muan, is lined along a national road in front of the village. It consists of 66 East Asian Hackberry trees, 20 Asian Hornbeam trees, and 3 zelkova trees. The trees are presumed to be 500 years old and it is said that the forefather of the Bae Clan planted these trees. There are two roadside trees designated as a natural monument in Daedong-myeon, Hampyeong and Cheongcheon-ri, Muan. The roadside trees of East Asian Hackberries and Asian Hornbeams in Cheongcheon-ri, Muan, are very important in that they protect the village from a strong wind from the western sea.
