Description
Windbreak Forest of Mulgeon-ri, Namhae is a forest about 1,500m long and approximately 30m wide along the coast. This forest was made by villagers about 300 years ago. In the forest, there are a lot of trees such as zelkova and hackberry. The villagers believe that, if this forest is harmed, the village will perish. The Windbreak Forest of Mulgeon-ri also protects the village from the strong sea wind and tidal waves and offers a good area to live for fish. The forest has been well-preserved and it is designated and protected as a natural monument.
