Description

Diplomorpha grows on Jindo Island, and Ganghwado Island in the southern coast of Korea and Japan. The tree grows near mountains and valleys and it is presumed to have been brought to Korea from Japan to make paper and textiles during the Joseon dynasty. The natural habitat of Diplomorpha in the southern sea is located between the entrance to Hwabangsa Temple and the valley. Because of the pine trees and weeds growing near the tree, the number of Diplomorpha is decreasing. Since the Natural Habitat of Diplomorpha is very important for cultural research, it is designated and protected as a Natural Monument.
