Description

Located at the foot of Cheonhosan Mountain, Cheonhodonggul Cave is 680 meters long, is made up of limestone, and is whitish. In that cave are many kinds of cave formations such as stalactites hanging down from the roof of the cave, stalagmites coming up from the floor of the cave, and stone pillars. In the middle front of the big cavity (hole), which is called Sujeonggung, meaning crystal palace, is a big stalagmite with height of 20 meters and diameter of 5 meters. In the corner of that cave, clean water flows, and it used to become a waterfall when it rains. There are many creatures in this cave such as bats and beetles. Cheonhodonggul Cave is designated and protected as a Natural Monument because it is an extraordinary cave around this area.
