Description
The Smoothlip Cymbidium is named Hallan in Korean because its flowers bloom from December to January. The Hallan shoots 3~4 blades, 20~70 centimeters long, which distinguishes it from Cymbidium goeringii with smooth-edged and sharp-pointed blades. The flowers blooming in winter are very fragrant and are yellowish green or maroon in color. The Smoothlip Cymbidium of Jeju is growing at the entrance of Donnaeko Valley. Because Smoothlip Cymbidium is an endangered species, this region has been protected by an iron fence. Since the Hallan is a rare plant found only at Hallasan Mountain in Korea, it is designated and conserved as a Natural Monument.
