Description

Lacebark Pine is called "white pine" or "white bone pine" because the bark of this tree gets peeled and remains white. Lacebark pine originated in China, introduced by the embassy who returned from China during the Joseon dynasty. The Lacebark Pine in Icheon is about 230 years old, with height of about 16.5m and girth of approximately 1.9m. This tree is located on the hill about 1km from the village and is divided into two branches. This Lacebark Pine was planted on the grave site of Min Dal-yong during the Joseon dynasty. The Lacebark Pine in Icheon is a unique pine and has been kept well. Biologically valuable, it is designated and protected as a Natural Monument.
