This cave is 1,395m long, but only 940m of the cave is open to the public for sightseeing; the rest of the area is off-limits to preserve its ecological environment. In the cave are a lion rock regarded as a guardian deity of the cave, a stalactite forming a grand waterfall, a waterpool called “Seonnyeotang” (means bath of nymph), and a stalactite 7 meters tall and which looks like a huge icicle. There are plenty of stalactites, stalagmites formed by drops of stalactite, and stone pillars formed by the connection of both formations. A stone bridge made by nature as well as bent stones, stones shaped like a flower, cave corals, cave pearls, etc., and many extraordinary stones can be found in the cave. Gosudonggul Cave in Danyang, a limestone cave, has great value for scientific research for its various cave formations. Therefore, it is designated and conserved as a Natural Monument.
