Description

" Baengnyongdonggul, a limestone cave, is at the cliff on the edge of Baekunsan Mountain, which is located in the side of Donggang River, a branch of Namhangang River. This cave is 12,000m long and is shaped like a "C" bent to southeast from southwest. In the cave are many kinds of cave formations such as stalactites, stalagmites, and stone pillars formed by the connection of both formations. Another unique feature of this cave is the stalagmites shaped like a bamboo hat and a fried egg. Baengnyongdonggul Cave of Pyeongchang-gun is designated and conserved as a Natural Monument because of its great scale and many formations, which are valuable for scientific research."
