Description
Korean Berchemia grows rarely in Korea, China, and Japan. It is a rare variety in the world and its yellow maples are very beautiful, but it generally grows in a place with mild conditions. The tree bears fruits very well but its breeding capacity is really poor. The Korean Berchemia of Songgye-ri is about 150 years old, with height of 17m and girth of 2.22m and it stands at the ridge of the village. Since the Korean Berchemia of Songgye-ri, Jewon is an endangered species with high rarity value, and has been preserved well by our ancestors, it is designated and protected as a Natural Monument.
