Description

Royal Azalea is short with lots of branches and its leaves bloom in spring and fall in autumn. The tree sprouts flowers that are light purple in late spring. The Royal Azalea is about 200 years old, with height of 4.39m and girth of 84cm. It grows along the mountain ridge approximately 1,064m. Since the Royal Azalea in Ballonsan Mountain, Jeongseon is the tallest, and there are many special and rare kinds of plants, it is designated and protected as a Natural Monument.
