Growing in warm areas such as temperate and subtropical regions, zelkova is distributed in Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and China. Its flowers bloom in May, and its fruit, which is disk-shaped, gets ripe in October. This saw-leaf zelkova serves as a shady resting place and it has long been worshipped by the local community as a village guardian. This saw-leaf zelkovas in Oga-ri are situated in Uryeong Village, consisting of three little trees; the upper one is 30m high and 7.66m wide, the lower one is 20.4m high and 9.24m wide, and a small tree beside the first two is about 15m high. The lower tree has three central branches, one among them was broken and has been dead a long time ago, and there is a hole in it.
