Dangcheomuldonggul Lava Tube is located 27km east from Jeju-si. Assumed to have been formed about 320,000 years ago by the volcanic activity of Hallasan Mountain, this cave is formed 3m under the ground and has been well-preserved, because it had not been opened to the public. In the cave are many kinds of cave creations such as stalactites, stalagmites, and stone pillars created by the connection of both formations. In particular, many thin and long stalactites and stone pillars are in the cave. Dangcheomul Cave is designated and conserved as a Natural Monument for its great value in scientific research.
