Description
Kongdol Pebble Beach of Nampo-ri, Baengnyeongdo Island is situated along the coast to the south of Ogeumpo Harbor, Nampo-ri. It is 800m long and 30m wide. Pebbles in the beach are small gravels from quartzite rocks smoothened by the coastal wave. The colors of these pebbles consist of white, gray, brown, red-brown, and blue-gray and form a beautiful landscape. Kongdol Pebble Beach of Nampo-ri, Baengnyeongdo Island shows the characteristics of geography and geology of Baengnyeongdo Island and has high geological research value. Therefore, it is designated and protected as a Natural Monument.
