Description
The distribution place of basalt containing peridotite is located in Jinchon-ri, Baengnyeongdo-myeon, Baengnyeongdo Island. In this place, a lava bed containing yellow peridotites with diameter of 5 - 10cm is lying along the shoreline. This lava bed has width of over 10m and consists of black basalts. The basalt containing peridotite is distributed only in Jeongok, Gyeonggi-do and Cheorwon, Gangwon-do, Ulleungdo Island, and Jejudo Island. Therefore, the Jincholli Basalt Distribution Place in Baengnyeongdo Island is very important in geology.
