Description
Garosup Forest of Sachon-ri in Uiseong was formed by Kim Ja-cheom. The progenitor of Andong Kim's family moved to Sachon from Andong. He made a windbreak forest against a strong wind from the west. Over 500 trees of 10 species including the Japanese Hackberry and the Zelkova are growing in this forest. A famous literate in Joseon dynasty, Yu Seong-ryong (pen name Seoae) was born in Sachon. This forest has been a material for knowing about our ancestors’ idea on nature, and is designated and protected as a Natural Monument.
