Description
The fossil site of dinosaur eggs in Bibong-ri of Boseong is the place where a number of dinosaur egg fossils were discovered in the layer in the form of the nest of dinosaur eggs in the Cretaceous period of the Mesozoic era. About 10 hatcheries and 100 fossils of dinosaur eggs were discovered on the rock. The diameter of the egg of the biggest dinosaur's nest is 1.5m. The size of the fossil of the dinosaur's eggs is 9 - 15 cm, and the width of the outer covering of the dinosaur's eggs is 1.5 - 2.5 mm. Since there was no trace for dinosaur fetus or its skeletal structure, these fossils are assumed to be petrified after they were all hatched. The Dinosaur Egg Tracksite in Bibong-ri of Boseong is very important for studying dinosaurs' habitat and life. Therefore, it is designated and protected as a Natural Monument.
