Description
This pine tree belongs to the Sajeonggong branch of the Jangsu Hwang clan, and it is estimated to be around 400 years old. The tree is very beautiful, due to its unique posture, such as its convoluted branches spreading out. Near the tree was the shrine for the portrait of Hwang Hui in Head House of the Jangsu Hwang clan (Mungyeong Cultural Heritage No. 236). On every 15th in January, the villagers held a rite. The tree has been designated as a Natural Monument since it is in such good condition and for its unusual beauty.
