Description

Over 1,500 fossilized footprints of carnivorous dinosaurs have been found in this place, with the longest trackway (52m) having fifty-seven footprints. This site is noted for the high concentration of dinosaur footprints as well as for the length of trackways. Footprints of carnivorous dinosaurs discovered at this place are in two different sizes, large and medium. Fossilized footprints of herbivorous dinosaurs (sauropods and ornithopods) are also found alongside those of carnivorous dinosaurs. Meanwhile, at the southeast shore near this site, large quantities of silicified woods, plant fossils and other trace fossils have been discovered. This shore section is also of interest for its various sedimentary structures including chasms and ripple marks. The sedimentary structures with well-developed cross-bedding make this fossil site of great scholarly significance.
