Description
This Turczaninow hornbeam with the appearance of a typical shrub has a handsome crown and is nicely proportioned. Its isolated location high on the stone bank at the Chamseongdan Altar makes this tree yet more striking. Both in terms of size and beauty, it is arguably among the finest Turczaninow hornbeams in Korea. The Turczaninow hornbeam has small leaves and unusual, aged-looking stems and has been long prized in Korea, as a bonsai plant. * Chamseongdan Altar: An open-air altar where Dangun is said to have held rites to honor Heaven (Historic Site)
