Description
This large sand pear tree has served as a ritual tree ever since the foundation of this village. The village people used to perform rituals at the tree on the 15th day of the first lunar month, and whenever misfortune struck the village. They also foretold the annual village harvest by observing the flowers on the tree, which suggests it has been part of the village’s history for many years. The tree is renowned for its beautiful shape and good growth, and has long been protected as a village guardian tree by locals, giving it great biological and cultural value.
