Description

This site containing pterosaur, bird, and dinosaur tracks in Hotan-dong, Jinju is the largest such site discovered in Korea to date in terms of the sheer number and density of pterosaur footprints. It is very rare to discover several pterosaur footprint fossils in such a narrow place anywhere in the world, so this particular fossil site is of great academic importance. Furthermore, as both dinosaur and bird footprints have been discovered together in this area, it is an important site for research on the paleoecology and geology of the Cretaceous Period, the last period of the Mesozoic Era.
