Description

The Fossil Eggs and the Nest of Theropod Dinosaurs from Aphaedo Island, Sinan in Jeollanam-do are the largest of their kind found thus far in Korea. The nest measures 2.3m in diameter, 60cm in height, and 3 tons in weight, and contains a total of nineteen fossil eggs whose diameters range from 385 to 430mm. The fossil eggs and nest are very important materials for understanding the geographical distribution, reproductive habits, and habitat of the carnivorous dinosaurs that lived on the peninsula in the latter part of the Cretaceous Period.
