Description

This subtropical evergreen tree located southwest of Naegiriso Basin in Gangjeongcheon Stream, Jeju, has long been worshipped by the local community as a village guardian. In addition to its cultural and folkloric significance, the tree is also highly regarded for its fine shape, and as one of the largest and oldest elaeocarpus trees naturally grown in Korea.
