Description
A bronze tiger face-shaped belt loop accessory unearthed from a wooden coffin tomb No.1, Sindaeri Tumuli, Gyeongsan was unearthed in 2007. It was an accessory used to adorn clothes or sword pommel. Researchers have discussed its association with the the bronze culture of northern regions and regarded it as an important article displaying the authority of the ruling class people of the Bronze Age through the early Iron Age. A total of eight items of tiger face-shaped belt loop accessory have been unearthed, but most of them were damaged severely or not those unearthed by an official group of excavators. In contrast, this belt is one preserved better than any of its cousins. It is a work of art made with an exceptional casting technique. It is clear how it, along with the others, was unearthed. It is a valuable work of art from a historic/cultural perspective.
