Description

This is a book that translated Dugonbu Poems of Du Fu (712-770) of the Tang Dynasty of China into Korean at the instruction of King Seongjong. The translation was done by Yu Yun-gyeom and others at Hongmungwan (Office of Special Advisers). The title Dugongbu is associated with Du Fu serving as an official. The book contains 1,647 poems written by Du Fu and 16 poems written by others; it is also called Du Fu’s Poems Translated into Korean. The first edition of this book was published in 1482 (the 12th year of King Seongjong’s reign) using Eulhaeja (copper types of Chinese characters made in 1455) or Korean-letter types mixed with Eulhaeja. The content of each page is included within a single-lined rectangle. Each page contains 8 lines, each of which has 17 letters. Each page contains the title of the book and a figure indicating the page. Korean letters are accompanied by side dots, showing how Korean letters were used in the post-Imjin War Period. The book contains 45 sheets, and it has been kept in good condition. The front and back covers are newly replaced ones.
