Description
Dating back to the early Joseon Period, this white porcelain bottle has height of 36.2 cm, mouth diameter of 7.4 cm, and base diameter of 13.5 cm. The line from its wide mouth to the plump body through a long neck forms a smooth curve, and the wide, tall heel gives the bottle a stable look. The thick surface is evenly coated with white glaze with slightly blue tone to give it a misty gloss. This type of white porcelain is believed to have been made in Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do from the end of the 15th century to the beginning of the 16th century. Displaying the harmonious combination of plump, upright, and formal shape and clean and soft color, this is one of the masterpieces dating back to the early Joseon Period.
