Description
Jeonghakdang Hall of the Geumoseowon Confucian Academy exhibits various architectural features of the late Joseon period, including the use of round columns even in the ondol-heated sections, standardized wooden beams and members, and restrained embellishments. Its aesthetic quality is particularly noticeable in the fine details of the roof structure and the roof-supporting bracket system. Jeonghakdang Hall embodies the universal value of a private school with locally unique features, and is an outstanding example of the lecture hall architecture of the late Joseon period.
