Description
The Sanghyeonmyo Ancestral Shrine is a 3 kan* by 3 kan structure with a gable roof, two bird wing-shaped brackets supporting the eaves, and a truss composed of five crossbeams. It does not have an open space under a roof, but it creates a broad interior space by installing walls and doors between the outer columns. The bracketing system and two bird wing-shaped brackets exhibit the characteristic features of seventeenth-century Joseon architecture.
