Description
Also called “Geumganggyeong” for short, this book is a fundamental Buddhist book of the Jogye Order. Its main thought is that people can attain enlightenment through sound wisdom like diamond. It is widely read in Korea, next to Banyasimgyeong (Heart Sutra). The book is a collection of commentaries written by several people. Among 32 chapters, Chapters 15 to 32 are included in the book. It was first engraved on wood and printed on mulberry paper during the 17th year of King Taejong’s reign (1417). It measures 27 cm long and 17.5 cm wide. At the end of the book are the writing stating the purpose of the Buddhist scripture and records proving that the book is a print copy of the original stone plates engraved by Monk Dogwa from Yeonggyeongsa Temple.
