Myobeopyeonhwagyeong, or shortly called Beophwagyeong, is the basic sutra of “Cheontaejong”, one of Korean Buddhist sects with the main idea that anyone can attain Buddhahood. Along with Hwaeomgyeong, Beophwagyeong has vastly influenced the establishment of Korean Buddhism and is the most widely read sutra in the country. This book was directly written with ink on white paper. Each of the seven parts is foldable. According to the part 7, it was made to pray for the soul of the late Mrs. Yi's husband, Yu Geun. It is 36cm long and 14cm wide. Floral patterns are around the title on the cover page, and the first part of each chapter has a drawing, summarizing the following contents in gold color. It’s one the very rare books that's well preserved. Considering the fact that it was written in the late Goryeo Dynasty (918-1392), the calligraphy on the book isn't very refined.
