Description
These are transcriptions made through the voluntary labor of female monks Myoji and Myosu in 1371 (the 20th year of the reign of King Gongmin of Goryeo). The beginning part of the volume shows the images of Lord Buddha and Avalokitesvara in gold powder flanked by attendant bodhisattvas, whose composition is distinguished from the ordinary pictures contained in Buddhist scriptures. It is followed by transcriptions of the Diamond Sutra, Lotus Sutra Chapter 25, and Buddhist Monk Yeongga’s Letter of Prayer.
