Description
This royal certificate was issued in March 1613 (the 5th year of King Gwanghae’s reign) for Yu Mong-in’s feat of escorting Crown Prince Gwanghaegun on his way to a place of refuge during the Japanese invasion (1592-1598). Issued to Yu Mong-in, Vice Mayor of Hanseong (present-day Seoul), the certificate is made in five paragraphs with the following content:
