Description
This large bowl measures 9cm in height and 24cm in the mouth width and was discovered in Daeseogam-ri, Daedong-gun, Pyeongannam-do. The inside is painted red and has several circles, forming a concentric ring, drawn at the bottom. Dragons are painted in the middle of the concentric ring, in red, blue and green, and clouds painted in black, blue and green are placed above them. A dotted line in blue, green and yellow runs along the copper-coated edge of the mouth. The outside of the bowl is painted black and is divided into three tiers. The top tier has cloud motifs painted in yellow and brown, the middle tier clouds, mountains and animals in blue and green, and the bottom tier cloud motifs. There are two copper handles, in the shape of an animal, attached on either side of the bowl. There is also a cicada-shaped handle attached on the inside of the dish. This colorful dish is in a great state of preservation with colors that are still bright and unfaded.
