This is the list of successful candidates in the state examinations conducted in 1513 (the 8th year of King Jungjong’s reign).This is composed of 37 pages in all with the length 30 cm, the width 17.5 cm, and was handed down to Sim Eon-gwang, an ancestor of the current owner. The list of successful candidates for the higher civil service done at the same year was kept in Oksanseowon Confucian Academy in Wolseong and because it was ahead of the lower civil and military service examination, it was appointed as National Treasure No. 524. Although there are many lists of the late Joseon Dynasty, this is rare as the list of the early Joseon Dynasty and besides, it is the oldest as the combined list of three examinations, making it an important material to study the important figures. As the letterpress to print this list is a copper type cast in the fifty-first binary term of the sexagenarian cycle of King Sejong, it is a valuable material to study the printing culture.
