Description

These three silver diadem ornaments excavated at the northern mound of Hwangnamdaechong Tomb feature the shapes of bird’s wings and butterfly. The main artifact, discovered north of the tomb’s storage for grave goods, features the shape of a pair of open wings and is known to have been attached to the front of the diadem’s inner cap. The wings and the middle part between them were made from two different silver plates before being attached together. It measures 22 centimeters in height and 26 centimeters in width and had lost the end of its one wing by corrosion.
