Description
This book contains the basic thought of five Buddhist sects of the time of its publication, and an account of the lifetime achievement of the founders, which were summarized by Jiso, a monk of Song. It has been widely read among Zen sects in the country. The book was published in the 6th year of King Gongmin’s reign (1357) by Gang Geumgang, who took an active role in Won, and then in the fourth year of King Taejo’s reign (1395), Great Master Muhakdaesa engraved it and published it again at Hoeamsa Temple. It is a woodblock-printed book on mulberry paper, comprising a set of three volumes bound together. It is 27.2 cm long and 18 cm wide. It is exceptionally valuable in that it was published in the Joseon Dynasty but based on a woodblock-printed book of the Goryeo Dynasty. In addition, it is an important source for study of the bibliography and the Buddhism of the early Joseon Dynasty.
