Description
This book was re-written in mid-Goryeo. It is made into a three-fold screen album. Spread out, the total size is 5.3 cm in length and 275 cm in width. It contains three volumes and it is made up of the scriptures Iljajeongnyunwang Dharani, Jajaewangchiondok Dharani and Avalokitesvara Sutra. The silver casket, 5.3 in height, 3.5 cm in breadth and 0.5 cm in width, is coated in gold. This gold-coated casket is again put into a wooden casket, 13.8 cm in height, 12.8 cm in breadth, and 6 cm in width. On the upper part of the silver casket there are attached two handles, one on the right and one on the left. This shows that it was portable. From a note at the end of the book, it can be seen that it was written by Choe Chungheon, Choe Uh, and Choe Hang for the prompt settlement of the war and also to pray for longevity. The first part is broken off and the engraved letters are rather obscure, which makes reading difficult. It seems to be a later re-print of an original. It is a wood-block printing made for the self-protection of the central figures of the Choe period of government.
