Description
Naonghwasang eorok (Sermons of Buddhist Monk Naong) and Naonghwasang gasong (Poems of Buddhist Monk Naong). Naonghwasang eorok is a collection of 67 chapters of sermons of Naonghwasang Hyegeun that were published after being collected by his students in Goryeo, and Naonghwasang gasong is a collection of his poems. Naonghwasang (1320∼1376) went to China to get learning from an Indian monk Jigong and returned to Goryeo to be the teacher of King Gongmin. This book saw its first edition in 1363, the 12th year of King Gongmin’s reign. It was reprinted by his students after proofreading in 1379, the 5th year of King Uh’s reign. It is a block book printed on mulberry paper, consisting of two volumes, one of his sermons and the other of his poems. The size is 26 cm by 16 cm. Many editions of the Sermons of Naonghwasang have been handed down, but this one has the best engraving and printing.
