This is the Daebuljeong suneungeomgyeong Sutra, or Neungeomgyeong in short. Its main message is that one should have one’s own power through direct experience and training, not stopping at just understanding the words of the Buddha. This book has Volumes 6 to 10 of the originally translated Surangama Sutra, which was translated by the Tang Chinese Banjamilje. It was printed from engraving on the wood blocks, and bound as a single book. It measures 26.1 cm by 16.6 cm and it is displayed in Leeum Samsung Museum of Art. It was published at Cheongnyongsa Temple in Anseong in 1372, the 21st year of the reign of King Gongmin of Goryeo, and is the same edition as the one designated as Treasure No. 698, but it is believed to have been printed at a later time.
