Description
Beopsu means a kind of dictionary, and this book was published to make people easily consult a dictionary by arranging the number of names sequentially written in the Tripitaka. This had the book, edited by the Monk Gasu in China (Yuan), reprinted by Muhakdaesa, a monk, who gave a great help to the foundation of Joseon in 1389, 1st ruling year of King Gongyang. The size of a block book printed on mulberry paper is 28 cm by 17.6 cm. Jangseung beopsu has several kinds transferred, but it is the rare example with the remaining record that it was published by Saint Muhakdaesa at the end of book. The characters and words are worn out so much and disappeared, and it is estimated that it was published a considerable time after engraving.
