Description
Bumoeunjunggyeong Sutra, or Eunjunggyeong Sutra, is the sutra containing the sermon of the Buddha about the precious blessings of parents. Eunjunggyeong was translated by Gumaraseup, and published with the help of the donation of Han Cheon, who was Minister of Proprieties in 1378, the 4th year of the reign of King U. It is a block book of the folding screen type printed on mulberry paper, and one folded side measures 29 cm by 11.3 cm. As usual in Eunjunggyeong, the ten precious blessings of parents are described in the writing and depicted in the painting, but this version also has the Bulseol bumoeunjungtae golgyeong at the back. The book is not only an important old edition, but also a valuable source as a woodcut edition because it includes a variety of elaborately executed paintings.
