Description
Royal Preceptor Jigyeom (1145-1229) compiled this book by collecting 170 rules from Zen Buddhist books of many great Buddhist monks during the reign of King Gangjong (r. 1211-1213) of the Goryeo Dynasty. This book was printed in the late Goryeo Period using the woodblocks engraved in 1219 (sixth year of King Gojong’s reign) in Hwajangsa Temple. This book is deemed valuable as a very important material for studying the characteristics of Zen Buddhism.
